Rise And Shine Healthy Breakfast Options

As we all know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Amongst several other benefits, it helps us maintain a healthy weight and fuels our bodies first thing in the morning.

For a healthy, balanced breakfast, combine carbohydrates and protein together. Here are some great options:

  • ¾ cup oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts & almond
  • ¾ cup yogurt OR 1 apple
  • 2 slices of whole wheat bread
  •  2 tsbp natural almond/peanut butter or hummus
  • 1 roti, 6”wide
  •  Egg white omelette with diced vegetables
  • 1 tangerine
  • 1cup sprouted lentils with vegetables
  • 1 whole wheat English muffin with egg white and cheese omelette
  • 1 cup cooked poha (flatted rice) with chopped vegetables 
  • ½ -1 cup Greek yogurt (no sugar added) 
  • 1 tortilla wrap
  • 1-2 scrambled egg whites
  • Salsa
  • 1 whole wheat/besan roti, 6”wide
  • 1cup daal
  • Breakfast smoothie with 1cup Greek yogurt and 1cup frozen berries
